Probably one of the most important ones aside from the VPN begin connected. A DNS leak happens when your request to a primary DNS happens outside the VPN. In this case your ISP knows what site you want to visit. Click TEST and see if your connection is safe

Test to ensure that your machine is not able to submit requests to IPv6 Networks.

How to Check and see if your VPN Connection is Efficient

The check will start by downloading a file and will measure your download speed. Once the download has finished, the broadband speed test will try to upload a file and will measure your upload speed.

Comprehensive list of all the VPN providers

We have carefully studied the list of VPNs to see which VPNs would be tested, to be up to date with the evolving market and its changing commercial offers and prices. So you can take advantage of our research!

While making the list we noticed several things :

  • The number of small VPNs is enormous. They resell the service from a larger structure so often only offer one or two protocols with mostly identical addresses: USA-UK-NL.
  • Most operate in English and are based in the USA.
  • General VPNs (HMA! , Overplay, Astrill, Ipvanish, PureVPN, StrongVPN, ExpressVPN, AceVPN) that offer lots of countries and protocols with mostly efficient integrated clients tend to dominate the market. You can be guaranteed a reasonably good service.
  • VPN usage has rapidly grown since 2010 but the VPN market is still not completely developed. We could easily add 30 ex-VPN services that have closed since their launch.
  • We discovered four or five surprise cases that we will elaborate. Their technical service and prices seem very reasonable. (BeeVPN, BolehVPN, My-Private-Network, PrivateInternetAccess, USAIP)
  • Specialist VPNs (IbVPN, HideIpVPN) have an extra weapon compared to the general ones. They have niche packages (Special Torrent, Special dedicated USA) as well as their general rates.
  • There are some rare options (how useful they are remains to be seen!) like small exotic countries (IAPS); encryption with 4096-bit SSL (12VPN // Perfect Privacy); IKEv2 Protocol (12VPN) or Cisco DTLS (BeeVPN); VPN packages where the IP changes every 10 minutes (MicroVPN); VPN pre-installed on all devices, like the router / USB key (SurfBouncer).
  • There is a marked absence of VPNs that provide Dedicated IPs with Full Port Open. Apart from PureVPN, Astrill, TuVPN and one or others there is nothing else. But a good dedicated IP (with P2P authorised) is a real asset: you can install other devices like NAS; the IP can’t be blacklisted by other users… We often ask why there isn’t a greater supply – and the answer? There is no demand from users!
  • Finally the range to choose from is not that large. Many suffer from a lack of clear explanations for countries, protocols and prices. In order to attract clients, this information should be obviously accessible from the home page.
  • It is an enormous list – but not all of them will be long-lived.
