CactusVPN supports SoftEther VPN protocol
CactusVPN seems to be a classic VPN, one that doesn't offer as much as the competition:
- Protocols are PPTP, OpenVPN, L2TP, SSTP and SoftEther
- Classic connection programme that lets you switch between countries, IP Guard (Apps Killer), startup options.
Torrenting allowed on NL servers
3 countries: UK, USA and NL
Low prices: 3 country pack + SmartDNS at $6.99/month
We had already tested VPN to satisfactory results – it remains consistent.
SoftEther (« Software Ethernet ») is an OpenSource VPN protocol developed by a Japanese university (Tsukuba). It had already been brought to our attention since VPNGate launched a free VPN based on this protocol.
SoftEther aims to be a more efficient alternative to the Windows VPN protocols (PPTP - L2TP – SSTP ) and to OpenVPN
SoftEther sets out to be:
- Better than OpenVPN
Faster than OpenVPN and Windows protocols
Installing CactusVPN SoftEther
Don't forget to restart your computer after installing.
Connect – admire the speed of connection!
The connection is extremely stable. Unfortunately my broadband connection is too slow to really measure the difference between OpenVPN and SoftEther.
We really admire CactusVPN for its promotion of SoftEther. It is original and innovative. But it will be a long time before SoftEther is really widespread due to lack of familiarity.
Remember it, for it is easy to install and has lots of options available (not offered by CactusVPN
